The Choosing Health project is funded by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Kent County Council and The Primary Care Trust and is facilitated by The Beat Project.
The project directly links with health professionals on the ground in each community who work along side the Beat Project team. We aim to engage the whole community but in particular young people most hard to reach who otherwise may not be aware or be able to take advantage of the services available.

Phase one sees a large scale youth and community research project to find out what is needed, where and to what extent. We have also run various music and arts activities where the topic of each session has been to do with the health targets for this project, teenage pregnancy and sexual health, smoking and alcohol.

This project has raised awareness, educated and informed the community with regard to the health issues concerned in a fun and exciting way. It has also given many people the opportunity to learn new skills and become part of improving health in their area.
