Welcome to The Beat Project Junk Drumming website

Junk Drumming is an easy and exciting way of creating a great visual performance and using the right instruments (or junk) can sound unique and fresh.
Its all inexpensive and can stir your imagination as to what instruments you can create using household, industrial or just everyday junk!
Professionals in stage performance such as Stomp or Blue Man Group are internationally renowned and made what is such a new sound, so very popular.
The Beat Project is running a series of Junk Drumming Workshops in Swale, Medway, Gravesham and Dartford and are aimed at young people aged 15- 19 yrs old.
The aims of the Junk Drumming Projects are to raise awareness and educate young people regarding further learning and training opportunities in their local areas in all subjects but especially music and the arts. It will enable participants to build confidence and self esteem, and of course to have lots of fun and make new friends, whilst being involved in something new, interesting and unique.
There will be a recording of the completed junk music piece, a slideshow of each group and in some cases a short film of their course and all this can be seen on this dedicated website.
The Beat Project would like to thank all the professionals and young people involved in making this project and I am sure you will agree the results speak for themselves.
